ARE YOU KIDDING?! Tyrese Haliburton goes off the backboard to himself and hits Pascal Siakam for three 🤯
It was a show at Madison Square Garden as 2 superstar point guards in today's game went head-to-head. In the end, Tyrese Haliburton got the best of Jalen Brunson, as the Indiana Pacers beat the New York Knicks 125-111.
Both teams were active this season. The Pacers added former All-Star Pascal Siakam earlier in the year, and during the trade deadline they brought in Doug McDermott who they kept on the roster. However, they traded away Buddy Hield to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Knicks acquired OG Anunoby earlier this season, and during the deadline they made a splash to solidify their depth and bench scoring. New York traded for Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic from the Detroit Pistons.
Tyrese Haliburton showcased his skills, going for 22 points and 12 assists. He had some highlight reel plays, including a pass to himself off the backboard that he then dished out to Pascal Siakam for a corner 3. This play looked similar to a Kobe Bryant play where he oddly enough did the same thing with Pau Gasol. Ironically, it happened on the same day and against the same team.
Myles Turner scored 23 points and 8 rebounds while Pascal Siakam contributed 19 points. TJ McConnell had 16 points off the bench.
Jalen Brunson had a game-high 39 points tonight, although it wasn't enough. Donte DiVincenzo cooled off a bit, scoring 14 points this game. Newly acquired Alec Burks recorded 22 points off the bench with 4 made threes while Bojan Bogdanovic had 11 points in his Knicks debut.
