Nah they already knew what to expect 😭
Joel Embiid's season is incredible. The 29-year-old center of the Philadelphia 76ers is having an outstanding campaign and is most likely to repeat the MVP, if the injuries don't cause him to miss any more games. Still, he wasn't available for last Friday's match at the home of the Denver Nuggets. The last time he suited-up with the Sixers in Denver was on Nov. 8th, 2019. Nugget's fans didn't let this particularity unnnoticed.
Some fans printed some missing person posters with the photograph of Joel Embiid, stating that the star was a coward for not wanting to play against Nikola Jokic and the reigning champions.
Although Embiid was ruled out to play because of a knee injury, there are groups of people who question Joel's health, and they just think that the MVP is ducking smoke against Jokic.
Fans were dissapointed, as they wanted to experience a rematch after January 16th. In that game played in Philadelphia, Joel Embiid was unstoppable for the Nuggets, finishing with 41 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
Embiid missed 11 games this season and must not go beyond six more if he wants to be eligible to win awards, including NBA MVP, where he sits at the top of the race.
For now, they'll just have to keep waiting. Who knows, maybe the rematch becomes a reality in June, in what would be a standout finals between two already historic players.
