The NBA remains one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. One of the reasons for that to happen is because of the ruthless nature of the competition.
It is for this reason some players' contracts were even waived off before they even represented the franchise. We are bringing you five such players who became free agents without even featuring once for their former franchise.
First on the list features Spencer Dinwiddie. The 30-year-old was traded to the Toronto Raptors in February 2024 but ended up leaving the franchise without playing a game. He later joined the Los Angeles Lakers.
Otto Porter
Second on the list features Otto Porter who signed up for the Utah Jazz during the 2024 draft but ended up leaving the franchise without playing a single game.
The next in line is Marcus Morris who was traded to San Antonio Spurs but on February 29, his contract was buyout by the franchise without playing in a single fixture.
Fourth on the list features Thaddeus Young who was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie. However, the Nets waived his contract without featuring in a single match.
Last but not least features Cory Joseph was signed by the Indiana Pacers in 2024 but his contract was waived off, thus making him a free agent, that too without ever representing the franchise.
