Cleveland Cavaliers’ young star
Darius Garland has been
given the green light to resume on-court activities. The 23-year-old, who plays as a point guard
for the franchise in the NBA, has been out of action for more than a month
because of a broken jaw.
As per the latest report, Garland, who broke his jaw after
colliding with Boston Celtics’ Kristaps Porzingis, has now been allowed to
resume on-court activities as he is looking to return to full-time
action.
Garland was having a more than impressive season on the
court where he is averaging 20.7 points per game. It is the third consecutive
season where he is averaging more than 20 points per game.
His best outing in terms of points this season was against
the Orlando Magic where he ended up registering 36 points which included six
rebounds. Garland is having his best
season ever in terms of steals where he is averaging 1.6 steals per game.
Despite being allowed to resume activities on the court, Garland,
who was restricted to a liquid diet, is not expected to fully recover before February
which means that the Cavaliers will still have to find ways to continue their four-match
winning streak without one of their star performers.
