Free Agency:
Chicago Bulls power forward
Patrick Williams has expressed
optimism that he will be able to continue with the franchise despite his
contractual problems.
The 22-year-old signed a mega four-year deal with the Bulls in
2020 which is now set to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Williams was recently quoted in the report where he expressed
optimism that he will be able to continue playing for the Bulls despite no news
about any extension at the end of his current contract.
"I don't think anybody knows what their future is to be
honest," he said. "I would love to continue to be a Bull. I love it
here. I love the opportunity we have to build culture, to build something
special with this group and this team.
I think I could really be a cornerstone piece for this team.
But you never know what the future holds, and I understand it's a business.
Like I said, I love it here. I love the team. I love the guys. I love the front
office."
Williams is currently
spending time on the sidelines because of a concern. The North Carolina-born is
having a below-par campaign for the Bulls where he is contributing 10 points,
3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
