NBA broadcaster
Stephen A. Smith has offered an apology to the
Los Angeles Lakers and their star forward
LeBron James.
The 56-year-old, in the recent past, made a comment before
the start of the match between the Lakers and the
Los Angeles Clippers that the
latter side would be able to secure a win.
It felt like things were exactly going how it was predicted
by Smith but James produced an outstanding performance and helped Lakers come from
behind to secure an unlikely win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Smith is now quoted in a report where he offered an apology to
both the Lakers and James for doubting their abilities.
“I owe LeBron James an apology,” he said. “I just do. I just
do. … I owe LeBron James an apology because look at what I said the other day
to Shannon Sharpe. There is no getting around the greatness of LeBron James.
“On this particular mornin’ I have to stand down, and I have
to say on national television — because even though I was talkin’ about the
Lakers, I wasn’t talkin’ about him — his greatness was so sublime, so
spectacular, I have to sit up there and pay homage and give major, major props
to the one and only LeBron James. I apologize for bein’ — talkin’ about the
Lakers gon’ get their a– kicked. I apologize LeBron James.”
