The Golden
State Warriors veteran power forward
Draymond Green has revealed reasons behind
why the 2022 NBA-winning campaign was the special one.
The Warriors
went on to win the title after beating the Boston Celtics in the best-of-seven
finals with a score of 4-2.
Green was
recently quoted in a report where he revealed why winning that specific title
was a more special one compared to the other achievements of the current Warriors
squad as it was the time when Stephen Curry rose to the occasion and delivered
one of the most inspirational performances to help a side win the title.
“2022 wasn't
really a championship team.. but that's also when Steph took that next step of
like 'nah I'm really one of them GOATs' and he carried us," he said. That
was the toughest one. [The Warriors] weren’t favorites, like everybody was
calling us too small… and we went and made it happen. So that one was my
favorite one, and then also I told [Kevin Durant], 'I’m gonna win when you
leave here.'”
The Warriors
are going through a rather difficult campaign this time around as they are
placed on the fifth spot in the Pacific Division with 29 wins and 26 defeats. However,
they are now on a bit of a role as they have won eight out of the last nine
matches.
