The
New Orleans Pelicans star power forward
Zion Williamson
has stated that he is ready to be a part of the Dunk contest but only if he is
selected in an
All-Star game.
The Dunk contest remains one of the most anticipated ones for
the basketball fans in the NBA All-Star weekend but over the years, it has
failed to attract stars.
The 23-year-old was recently quoted in a report where he
stated that he is ready to be a part of the Dunk contest but only if he is selected
in an All-Star game. "If I'm in the All-Star Game, I'll do the dunk
contest," he said. "But if I'm not, I'm not doing it."
Williamson has been one of the star performers this season
where he is averaging 22.1 points per game, the best by any Pelicans player. To
go with that, he is also contributing 5.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.
In the most recent outing against the Toronto Raptors, the
North Carolina-born ended up registering 16 points to go with eight rebounds
and nine assists.
His best performance this season came in the match against
the Washington Wizards where he registered 36 points to go with six rebounds
and eight assists.
