The
New York Knicks point guard
Jalen Brunson registered a couple
of milestones in the match against the
San Antonio Spurs.
The Knicks had a difficult night overall as they lost to the Spurs with a score of 130-126 after overtime at the Frost Bank Center in San
Antonio.
Despite the result, the night will remain a memorable one
for Brunson as he was a standout performer for the losing side. The 27-year-old
ended up registering 61 points to go with four rebounds and six assists.
While doing so, he registered the second-most points in an
NBA game by a Knicks player ever. He became the third player in franchise
history to register 60 or more points in a game and he also became the first Knicks
player in two decades to register 50 or more points on more than one occasion
in a season.
Before Friday night’s heroics, Brunson registered 50 points
in the game against the Phoenix Suns back in December 2023.
After his recent performance against the Spurs, the New
Jersery-born is now averaging 27.9 points per game which is the fifth-best in
the competition. To go with that, he is also contributing 3.6 rebounds and 6.5
assists per game.
