Nikola Jokic y Luka Doncic. Qué dos fenómenos
There's no secret about the friendship between the two european superstars, Nikola Jokic, reigning champion with the Denver Nuggets, and Dallas' wonderboy, Luka Doncic. After the All-Star game, the Joker was asked about teamming up with Luka, and here we'll break down that answer.
Although it intended to be a joke, Nikola's comments about the possibility about sharing the court with Doncic were missinterpreted in social media.
"If Luka gets pissed off in Dallas, he can come to Denver," stated the big man.
Known for is sense of humour, Jokic wasn't trying to recruit Doncic at all. It's obvious that any other team that's not the Dallas Mavericks would love to count with the slovenian phenom, including the Nuggets. This doesn't mean that Denver is actively asking for Doncic.
This trade would be pretty much impossible, although impossible trades sometimes happen in the NBA. If Denver would like to count with Doncic and Jokic, they would have to let go the other big part of the Nuggets' present history, Jamal Murray, and also say goodbye to other future assets, such as Draft picks and young talents. This is certainly not the case, Denver is in a great form, they went all the way last year and they could do it once again this playoffs.
Denver surely is a great place to be right now, currently sitting in the 4th spot of the Western Conference, three games behind the leader, Minnesota Timberwolves. But Luka Doncic's new Mavericks are also promising, so perhaps it's better to catch those two on the same locker room every year, teaming up in the Western Conference team, at the All-Star game.
