The
Minnesota Timberwolves remain the best team in the Western Conference with a dominant 38-16 record. Throughout the year, they have defeated some of the best squads in the league. Despite that, some analysts have questioned if the Timberwolves have what it takes to make it past the competition and to the NBA Finals.
Former NBA player
Kendrick Perkins has nothing but faith in the team and said so on Twitter early Wednesday morning.
Speaking on Twitter, Perkins said, "The Timberwolves have been standing on business all season long! Idk about how y’all feel… but I’m leaning towards them being legit Title Contenders."
This followed yet another impressive win for the Timberwolves, this time over the Portland Trail Blazers. During that 121-109 victory,
Anthony Edwards scored 41 points, Nickeil Alexander-Walker got 18 points, while
Rudy Gobert posted 16 points and 15 rebounds, and
Karl-Anthony Towns scored 13.
It was another all-around great performance from the Timberwolves, who have gone 7-3 in their last ten games. On the road, the Timberwolves have a 19-11 record in the last 20 games.
The Timberwolves have earned this spot at the top of the Western Conference and have remained toward the very top all season long. Like the Denver Nuggets last season, they will likely hear questions about their ability to make the Finals all year long, regardless of how well they are doing.
The last time that Minnesota won a playoff series was back in 2004. This is the best they have been since then and it seems very likely that they might win at least one round in the postseason this year.
