Former NBA star
Kendrick Perkins believes that the Los
Angeles Lakers are facing a battle to secure their place in the playoffs.
The Lakers are going through a difficult campaign as they
are placed in the ninth position in the Western Conference with just 31 wins
and 28 defeats this season.
Perkins was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
the Lakers are in for a fight if they are to secure their place in the playoffs.
"As far as this season alone, the Lakers better be
worried about making the players, far as making a run in the playoffs," he
said. "Matter of fact. The playoffs have started. ... Do I think Spencer
Dinwiddie is going to get them over the top? Hell no.
“At the end of the day, what I'm watching right now is that
they lack depth at the big position. ...You need depth at the big position to
win any series in the Western Conference. ... Hell no, they're not making
another run (this season.)"
The Lakers suffered a comfortable
defeat in their most recent outing against the Phoenix Suns with a score of 123-113
at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on Saturday. That was their second defeat in
the last three matches. Their next fixture will be up against the Los Angeles
Clippers at the crypto.com Arena on Wednesday.
