Los Angeles Clippers prevailed against the Minnesota Timberwolves in an absolute nail-biter. The Timberwolves couldn't take advantage of playing at home and having the crowd on their side. Paul George was back for the Clippers and despite his lack of effectiveness he responded when he was much needed in the fourth quarter. Kawhi Leonard led his team in scoring with 32 points. Important road victory 89-88 in LA's favor.
What a great game we were able to witness on this NBA Sunday between two of the best Western Conference teams of the regular season. The match was so even that there were 19 lead changes.
Minnesota outscored the Clippers in the first and third quarter, but lost the second and fourth. Both teams shot the ball poorly, only 39% for the Wolves and 38% for LA.
Norman Powell came up huge for the Clippers, scoring 24 points shooting 69% from the field, and 75% from long distance, swishing 6 three-pointers. Kawhi scored 32 points and PG 15.
The game was decided by the Clippers, who were much smarter in clutch moments, taking good care of the ball, registering only 9 turnovers.
Minnesota on the other hand, could easily find the reasons for this loss by the exact opposite of LA. The Timberwolves had 15 turnovers that cost them 20 points. Anthony Edwards finished the game with 27 points, Karl Anthony-Towns helped with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Rudy Gobert registered 12 points and 16 rebounds.
The Clippers will be playing against the Bucks at Milwaukee tomorrow night, hoping to chain another win that puts them closer the 3rd spot in the West, currently in hands of the Denver Nuggets.
Minnesota will be facing the Portland Trail Blazers at home, also on Monday night, trying to recover that 1st spot, which now belongs to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
