In an absolutely rare game,
Boston Celtics received the
Golden State Warriors in the TD Garden. The Celtics destroyed Golden State, requiring just the first half of the match to decide their victory.
Stephen Curry was unknown, ending with 0-9 from three-point range, and only four points. Who's going to stop this superb 11-game winning streak by
Jayson Tatum and his squad?
In what was expected as a very competitive matchup between the NBA's leaders Boston Celtics and a Golden State Warriors team playing with the urgency to win every game they have to not lose a step behind the Lakers, events took a surprising turn, as Boston controlled every aspect of the game from start, leaving the Warriors without hope with just 24 minutes of action.
The Celtics duo of Jayson Tatum and
Jaylen Brown took this personally and torched Golden State. Brown finished the game with 29 points, shooting 11-19 from the field and playing just 22 minutes. Tatum played only 25 minutes and scored 27 points in an astonishing 9-13 from the field.
Boston is now on an 11-game winning streak and looking almost invincible. Their next game will be at Cleveland on Tuesday night.
Golden State must be decepointed, they needed to get a win to stay near the Lakers in order to at least catch them in the 9th spot, but neither Steph Curry or
Klay Thompson were nearly as close as they are, efficiency wise. Curry shot 0-9 from three, finishing with only 4 points. Klay recorded only 6 points. Their top scorer was Lester Quinones with 17 points.
While the Utah Jazz is still 6 wins away from the 10th spot owned by the Warriors, if Golden State doesn't ignite a winning streak soon, they are going to have only one shot to get to the next playoffs, in a win or die game against three teams with better record. The Lakers, the Mavericks, the Suns are extremely challenging matchups if you want to depend only in a win against them to earn a trip to the upcoming playoffs.
Warriors next stop will be at Milwaukee were they'll try to bounce back against a Bucks team that's on a 5-game winning streak, on Wednesday night.
