NBA Trade Deadline: He hasn't been with the team for long but P.J. Tucker's time with the Los Angeles Clippers may be coming to an end soon. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, there are several teams thinking about signing the veteran forward.
Fischer is reporting that the Washington Wizards have been linked to a trade for Tucker, although they would likely sign the 38-year-old and then waive him or sign him to another team.
Additionally, the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks could be intrigued by the prospect of signing Tucker if he becomes a free agent.
Tucker has only been with the Clippers for a matter of months but it's become clear that the team doesn't really have much space for him. He only appeared in 12 games and has been on the floor for an average of just 14.4 minutes per game.
Tucker hasn't participated in a game with the Clippers since November 27 and has publicly stated that he's unhappy with his role on the team.
It is very clear that Tucker will likely leave the Clippers but it's not obvious where he will go. The one-time champion has a career average of 6.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Tucker wants to continue playing in the league but it remains to be seen if any team will sign him or if he will float around as a free agent looking for a new NBA home.
As the Clippers have gotten better, their reliance on Tucker has become smaller. That means that he will leave the team soon, either heading to another team or existing in free agency limbo.
He has played in the league for 12 years but will this be P.J. Tucker's last?
