During his three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Josh Giddey has averaged 14 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. He has become a crucial part of the up-and-coming young team, which is currently battling for the top spot in the Western Conference.
However, now Giddey's name is being tossed around as a possible trade asset for the Thunder. Yahoo Sports insider Jake Fischer recently said he believes that other teams could be making calls to the Thunder regarding Giddey ahead of the upcoming trade deadline.
On Tuesday, rumors about Giddey moving to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Zach LaVine circulated online, although the validity of these rumors was disputed.
Just last season, Giddey was seen as the future of the franchise because of his excellent ball handling and growing skill set. But things got complicated this year when the league and local authorities investigated Giddy for an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Since then, Giddey has mostly stayed out of the limelight and the accusations about him have only increased chatter about him moving to another team.
At the moment, it seems unlikely that Giddey will be traded, at least this season. But the fact that other teams are likely inquiring about signing the young star shows that they believe the Thunder might be lukewarm on him now. That means that in the near future, maybe next season or beyond, Giddey could be on the move.
