The
Oklahoma City Thunder are going through a more than impressive
season and one of the reasons why things are going so well on the court is young
power forward
Chet Holmgren.
The 21-year-old is proving to be one of the standout performers
this season for the side, something which was not expected of him
before the start of the campaign.
In the team’s most recent match against the Houston Rockets,
Holmgren ended up becoming the first rookie in the history of the NBA to register
150 blocks and more than 100 three-pointers in a season.
Those numbers are incredible for someone who is still very young
and has a long way to go as well. The Thunder went on to win that contest with
a score of 123-110 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
That result left the Thunder equal with the Minnesota
Timberwolves at the top of the Northwest Conference with 40 wins and 17 defeats
this season.
In that fixture, Holmgren was simply outstanding for his
current team as he ended up registering 29 points to go with eight rebounds and
seven assists.
His most impressive outing this season came in the match against
the Golden State Warriors in November last year where he registered 36 points
to go with 10 rebounds and five assists.
