Philadelphia 76ers star
Joel Embiid is continuing his
recovery from a knee injury. The 29-year-old has been out of action since
January 31 after suffering a knee injury.
Injury Report: To recover from that, Embiid underwent surgery and as per journalist
Austin Krell, he has started his on-court activities.
“Per @Katie_George05 on the broadcast, Joel Embiid has
"started on-court workouts and began lifting 100% of the weight he lifted
prior to the injury,” he wrote in a post on the social media platform X.
The news will be a welcome one for the Sixers who would’ve
been missing their star player in the recent past. Since the injury to Embiid,
the Sixers have suffered eight defeats in 14 outings with just wins.
Those results left the franchise in the fifth position in
the Eastern Conference with 35 wins and 25 defeats.
Embiid, this season, has been undoubtedly the Sixers' best
player as he was contributing 35.3 points per game before getting injured, which
was the best by any player in the competition. Not only that but he was also
contributing 11.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.
His most impressive performance this season came in the
match against the San Antonio Spurs where he registered 70 points to go with 18
rebounds and five assists.
