This game featured 2 teams that has suffered a lot of injuries this season. Luckily for the Phoenix Suns their stars were fully healthy and led by Kevin Durant, they were able to take advantage of the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers, defeating them 117-111 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
The Big 3 for the Phoenix Suns have dealt with their fair share of injuries, therefore they haven’t been on the court for that much time together. However, when they are on the court they have dominated, as any one of them is capable of scoring in bunches and taking over a game. In this contest, the trio of Booker, Durant, and Beal combined for 88 of the team’s 117 points.
KD led the way with 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists with 5 made three pointers. Devin Booker scored 27 points to go along with his 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bradley Beal ended with 24 points and 3 steals. The best part for Suns fans as well is that all 3 of them were efficient, shooting over 50% from the field on a large volume (19+ shot attempts).
Darius Garland did his best to carry the Cavs to victory, as he finished with 30 points with 7 made triples. Jarrett Allen recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds. Caris LeVert had 17 points, 6 boards, and 11 assists while Isaac Okoro scored 13 points with 4 steals.
Phoenix improves to 38-27 with this win and currently sit as the 6th seed in the West with a 1 game lead above the 7th seeded Kings. The Suns are looking to avoid the play-in tournament if possible so this victory helps that out. They are 5-5 over their last 10 games and will face off against the Boston Celtics on Thursday in a matchup that will feature a ton of stars.
On the other hand, Cleveland falls to 41-24 with this loss and now is 1 game behind the Bucks for the 2nd seed in the East. The Cavs have struggled as of late without Donovan Mitchell, losing 3 of their last 4 games. They will look to bounce back on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
