PJ Tucker seems to have lived his best moments as an NBA player a long time ago. The 38-year-old veteran could never find his rhythm once he left the
Milwaukee Bucks after the 2021 title, and has become a journeyman the last couple of seasons, playing in Miami, Philadelphia and now in LA.
This afternoon the NBA posted an communication in which the league fines PJ Tucker with $75000 dollars for making public comments. The defensive specialist expressed his desire to be traded from the
Los Angeles Clippers a few days ago.
"I feel like I shouldn't be going through this. I didn't ask to be here or to be traded here," were Tucker's comments that triggered the fine.
The LA Clippers sent Tucker home hours before the game against Golden State Warriors, in what looked like a good move by the team and also benefitiary for the player, who stated his need to take a break, clear his thoughts and come back to reunite with the squad after the All-Star break.
PJ was drafted in 2006 and had a solid career in the NBA. Playing alongside James Harden and the Houston Rockets we witnessed his best version, a strong forward who could also play at the center position when the team wanted to ensamble a small but quick lineup. Although he's been known for his relentless defensive skills, Tucker also shot very well the corner-three.
With Milwaukee, he played an important role and helped Giannis to win the first title for the city after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it, 50 years later.
He had a great career overseas too, playing in Israel and in Germany, winning championships in both cities.
Hopefully Tucker can bounce back from this controversial moment and return for a fresh start to a team that could really value his championship pedigree.
