Los Angeles Lakers are set to face a serious blow as forward
Jarred Vanderbilt is expected to be out of action for a few weeks.
The 24-year-old suffered a foot injury during the match
against the Boston Celtics on Thursday where he ended up playing just 16
minutes.
As per the latest report from ESPN, Vanderbilt is set to go
through a detailed investigation to diagnose the severity of his foot injury.
It is yet to be seen whether he will need surgery now or whether he can wait
till the season is over to go through a procedure.
The report further stated that the X-rays taken on Thursday
night did not portray a positive picture but the player will continue to take
different opinions.
Vanderbilt has been an important member of the Lakers
despite not playing on a consistent basis. He is averaging 5.2 points, 4.8
rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this season.
In the match against
the Celtics, the Hoston-born ended up registering 10 points to go with seven
rebounds and two assists. His best outing this season came in the match against
the Chicago Bulls where in just 27 minutes, he ended up registering 17 points
to go with five rebounds and one block.
