Milwaukee Bucks manager
Doc Rivers has expressed surprise after
being selected as the coach for the NBA
All-Star Game.
The 62-year-old was selected as the coach of the East for
the mega-event. That development left a lot of people surprised as Rivers had
just managed to win a single match as the head coach of his new franchise.
Rivers, was quoted in a report where he expressed surprise as
well and stated that being named a head coach of a side in the NBA All-Star
game after just one win as the head coach of the Bucks looks ‘ridiculously bad’.
"That is ridiculously bad. It really is," he said.
"Well, Adrian's going to get some money, that's for sure. And a ring. It's
one of these quirky things. I think there should be a rule somehow that someone
else does it other than me.
"Maybe I'll send my staff and I'll go on vacation. I'm
going to run that by Adam Silver. I think Adam's a good man. I think he'll
understand."
Rivers joined the Bucks franchise as a replacement of Adrian
Griffin who was surprisingly sacked despite the side having more than
impressive results on the court. The former Atlanta Hawks, before joining Bucks
as the head coach, has also worked in a coaching role with four other franchises —
Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
