Phoenix Suns are reportedly interested in signing the Washington
Wizards shooting guard Delon Wright in the near future.
The 31-year-old’s contract with the Wizards is coming to an end
at the end of the season and as of now, no contract extension has been agreed.
Therefore, as per the latest report, the Suns are interested
in signing Wright at the end of this season as a free agent. The franchise is
going through a more than decent season where they are placed in the second
position in the Pacific Division with 33 wins and 22 defeats.
While Wright’s numbers are not great, his experience of
playing in the competition for nine seasons will be handy for any franchise and
it will strengthen the next season.
The Los Angeles-born has been having a rather average season
where he is averaging 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists. In the last
four outings, Wright has not played more than 10 minutes. His last notable
outing was against the Cleveland Cavaliers where he registered five points.
His most notable performance this season came in the match against
the Charlotte Hornets where he registered 18 points to go with three rebounds
and three assists. It was the only occasion this season where Wright managed to
register more than 10 points.
