Golden State Warriors veteran shooting guard
Klay Thompson has
opened up about how it feels to come from the bench.
The 34-year-old has seen his time reduced on the court in the
recent past as he is inching towards the end of his career.
Thompson was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that when he used to come off the bench, he thought about
Manu Ginóbili who had
four rings in his career but still came as a substitute majority of his career.
“I thought about Manu Ginobili,” he said “That guy has four
rings and a gold medal, and he came off the bench his whole career. And I don’t
think anyone looks down on his Hall of Fame candidacy because he’s one of the
greats.”
Despite coming off the bench, Thompson is having a more than
impressive season for the Warriors where he is averaging 17.3 points, 3.5
rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
In his most recent outing against the Utah Jazz, he ended up
registering 35 points for the winning team to go with six rebounds and two assists.
It was the first time Thompson ended up registering 30 or more points for the
Warriors this season.
