NBA Rumors: LeBron James has repeatedly said that he would love to play with his young son, Bronny, when he enters the NBA. Conventional wisdom states that even though Bronny James won't be a top-ten pick in the upcoming draft, the USC prospect will most surely find a home in the league.
If that happens, his father could follow him, especially if the Los Angeles Lakers aren't playing much better by that time. However, there are a few teams that will be able to both draft Bronny and sign his father as well.
The father and son duo might end up playing for the team that started James' career: the Cleveland Cavaliers. This would be perfect for a number of reasons. Firstly, the team is doing quite well right now and could be championship contenders within a few years, especially if LeBron plays for them.
Secondly, the Cavaliers would give LeBron a chance to play for the team one last time before he retires. In this way, it the Cavaliers could be the place where one James chapter ends and another begins.
LeBron could meet up with Bronny at another team he played for before: the Miami Heat.
For the last few years, the Heat have been on the verge of being truly great and have come close but not close enough in the postseason. They'd be eager to sign both LeBron and his son in order to finally win another Finals.
The Knicks have recently become a topic of interest for many when James publicly said that he had considered signing with the Knicks in the past. Maybe he will do it now with his son in tow?
The Knicks are a team on the rise but they haven't had a lot of great success in the postseason. James could help in that department and his son could be a great bench player.
If LeBron wants to remain in California, he could just travel north by a few hours and spend the last several years of his career with the Sacramento Kings.
This team would be an ideal spot for Bronny, who is young and developing his basketball skills. As for LeBron, he would be a wise and respected team elder who could help the team with his plethora of postseason experience. The Kings made the playoffs last season but couldn't get past the first round.
The Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have a path to getting Bronny in the draft and making King James happy, but it won't be easy. However, they could use one of their draft picks to land LeBron's son and they would likely try to make that happen if their star player had a sit-down conversation with Rob Pelinka and made it clear how important this was.
The betting markets have the Lakers as favorites to land Bronny, because they seem to know how much the team wants to retain LeBron.
