The Golden State Warriors are navigating deep waters this season. They find themselves in a place that they've never been before. With a healthy squad they haven't been able to properly turn the situation around and start playing some winning basketball. Recently, Bismack Biyombo was waived by the Grizzlies, and he appears to be a player that could bring some features that the Warriors are missing right now.
Biyombo's averages with the Grizzlies prove that he can contribute as a role player: 5.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocks while shooting 56.3% from the field.
He's a tough rim protector, and he could add some length to the team. Right now, the Dubs tallest player is Dario Saric, at 6-10, so they would benefit with another big guy. They are currently one of the worst teams in blocks per game (29th) and one of the worst defensive teams overall.
That's another feature that Byombo could help cover. Bismack averaged 1 block per game all his career, so he could be really helpful as a presence in the paint.
Biyombo is 31 years old, so, while Golden State is an aging team, he's still below the team's average.
Financially, the Warriors could sign him for the veteran's minnimum, so that wouldn't be a problem either.
Biyombo could be a positive addition to the bench rotation, or even as a starter. It's up to Golden State to search for players that can help them get back on track, and compete for a spot to this year's playoffs.
