The greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history had another
jaw-dropping shooting performance, as
Stephen Curry shot the lights out to lead
the
Golden State Warriors to a 120-105 victory over the
Toronto Raptors at
Scotiabank Arena.
The Baby-Faced Assassin is one of the best players in NBA
history thanks to his majestic shooting stroke, as he can pull up from half-court
and sink in a shot with ease. Despite his smaller stature, he proved that with
his deep range he is nearly unguardable on the offensive end. The 4-time
champion has literally changed the evolution of basketball with his God-given
talents.
In this game, the 2-time MVP scored 25 points while hitting
7 triples. Jonathan Kuminga had 24 points while Draymond Green ended with 6 points
and 13 rebounds.
Klay Thompson got the start for the injured Brandin Podziemski
and he finished with 14 points and 4 made three pointers. Chris Paul had 13
points off the bench.
For the Raptors,
RJ Barrett led the team in scoring with 23
points. Jakob Poeltl ended with 10 points and 14 rebounds while Immanuel Quickley
had 12 points and 11 assists. Kelly Olynyk recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds
off the bench and it was an unfortunate game for
Scottie Barnes, as he only
played 15 minutes before getting injured. While he played, the former Rookie of
the Year contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Golden State improves to 2-27 with this win, jumping up to
the 9th seed in the West. Despite being on the verge of missing the
play-in tournament, the Warriors are only 3 games away from moving up to the 6th
seed, so the playoff race is still very competitive. They are on fire at the
moment, going 8-2 over their last 10 games and will look to keep up this
momentum on Sunday against the Boston Celtics.
Meanwhile, this loss drops the Raptors to 22-38 and they now
sit at 12th in the East. It’s been a rough season for Toronto and it
seems like they are looking towards next season with their core of Scottie
Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley. They are 5-5 over their last 10
games and will face off against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.
