The NBA is always on an on-going process of renovation, having always in the horizon being the best competition in the sports world. For this next 2024 NBA
All-Star weekend, we'll witness a three-point showdown between probably the best shooters in the world:
Stephen Curry representing the Association, against
Sabrina Ionescu, the WNBA star sniper.
Curry himself has been quick to comment on the matter, and in the meantime he is trying to turn around the situation of his
Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference standings. Currently, the Bay Area franchise is 12th with a 22-25 record, two positions below the playoff spots.
Stephen Curry has always been an admirer of Sabrina Ionescu, who at only 26 years old is already a historic WNBA player. The words he's had for the New York Liberty star have been the following: "She has carved her own path as an icon of women's basketball and basketball in general. The sky is the limit for her. It's been fun to watch her journey and the stage we'll be on in Indiana will be fun as well."
The way the contest between Ionescu and Curry at All-Star Weekend will work is as follows:
Curry will shoot from the NBA three-point line, using a standard ball. Meanwhile, Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA three-point line, using a ball corresponding to her league.
Both contenders will have four racks of four balls each, complemented by a money ball that adds two points. In addition, a fifth rack with all the money balls will be placed in a location designated by the players, following the traditional format of the three-point contest.
