The Golden State Warriors star forward Stephen Curry has opened up about giving and receiving trash talk on the court. The 35-year-old is being often regarded as one of the best players currently playing in the competition.
Curry, while speaking on a famous TV show ‘CBS Morning’, revealed the best trash talk that he gave during a match.
“I told a defender, ‘Just watch this,’ and I went and made like four straight threes in a row,” he said. “But I kind of called it ahead of time, so it’s not really trash talk. It’s just a little – respectable trash talk.”
Curry was then asked about the worst trash talk that he received at the court and he revealed that the incident from the school days ‘stays’ with him.
“That my dad paid the refs when I was in high school,” he said. “That was the chant from the rival high school student section. It was, ‘Dad paid the refs, and Daddy can’t help you.' So, they were chanting that all game. That was like one of the first ones, so it still kind of stays with me.”
Curry is once again having a fabulous season for the Warriors where he is contributing 26.9 points per game which is by far the best by any player from the franchise.
