The
Golden State Warriors suffered another defeat, this time
against the
Indiana Pacers with a score of 123-111 at the Chase Center in San
Francisco.
It was the Warriors' fifth defeat in the last eight fixtures
which left them in the 10th position in the Western Conference with
just 36 wins and 33 defeats.
We are bringing you a list of three things which were evident
from the Warriors' performance in the match against the Pacers on Friday.
Poor third quarter
The Warriors had things under control till the start of the third
quarter. It was that time when the Pacers took control of the game as they finished
the quarter with 36 points, 15 more than the losing side which proved to be the
difference on the night.
Kuminga, Wiggins slow night
The importance of
Jonathan Kuminga and
Andrew Wiggins has been
quite important for the Warriors in the second half of the season. When both are on song, things look better for the side. But that was not the case on
Friday as both had a rather slow night.
Kuminga ended up registering just 11 points to go with eight
rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes on the court. On the other hand, Wiggins
registered just eight points with five rebounds and one assist after playing 22
minutes.
Defence costing Warriors again
Warriors defensive unit has been a cost of concern throughout
the campaign and Friday was no different. The Pacers had too much space to play
with around the arc which gave them the luxury to hit the opponents when it
mattered the most. With the playoffs fast approaching, manager Steve Kerr will
have a big job at hand to improve the Warriors defensive unit’s performance.
