The
Philadelphia 76ers are in a crossroads after losing
Joel Embiid due to a knee injury. They don't have much time left for the
trade deadline but they're actively searching for an immediate replacement for Joel Embiid.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers are committed to continuing to look for opportunities to strengthen their roster prior to the trade deadline.
The team is actively seeking upgrades in several areas, including the possibility of acquiring a backup center who can provide immediate support in the short term. Names such as
Andre Drummond, who already has experience in Philadelphia, and
Kelly Olynyk, among others, stand out.
The Sixers' plans go beyond short-term acquisitions. The team's main goal is to remain competitive and consolidate its position in the Eastern Conference. Currently in fifth place, with a three-game lead over the nearest chaser, the Sixers are aiming to stay at least in sixth place and avoid falling out of the play-in tournament.
