Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard
Donovan Mitchell went after
San Antonio Spurs power forward
Zach Collins in a heated contest on Saturday. The
match was won by the Cavaliers with a score of 117-101 at the Frost Bank Center
in San Antonio, Texas.
In the fourth quarter of the match, Mitchell went after Collins
after it was clear that the former was hit on his face by the latter.
Both players were ejected after the altercation.
After the match, Mitchell admitted that he decided to react
after being hit on his face which according to him ‘felt dirty’.
"He just hit me in the face," he said. "I
felt like it was dirty, so I just pushed him back. I knew I was probably going
to get ejected, but it's my second or third time getting ejected. If you push
me, I push you back."
Mitchell was the star performer in the match for the winning
team as he ended up registering 31 points, the most by any player on the night. That’s
not it as he also went on to register eight rebounds and seven assists.
On the other hand, Collins, who came off the bench, ended up
registering just 10 points in 20 minutes on the court to go with nine rebounds
and one assist.
