Former NBA
Magic Johnson has warned the other teams in the Western
Conference of
Dallas Mavericks due to
Luka Doncic and
Kyrie Irving.
The side currently sits in the seventh position in the table
with 39 wins and 29 defeats, just slightly behind sixth-placed Sacramento Kings
who have also won 39 times and suffered 28 defeats this season.
In their most recent encounter, the Mavericks defeated the
in-form Denver Nuggets with a score of 107-105 at the American Airlines Center
in Dallas on Sunday.
Johnson, who is a five-time NBA champion, in a post on his
official account on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter —
has warned other teams in the Western Conference about the Mavericks side which
is coached by Jason Kidd.
"I want to put the Western Conference on notice - the
Dallas Mavericks, coached under HOF Jason Kidd, are a different team with new
additions of Washington, Lively, and Gafford. Watch out for them in the
playoffs!” he wrote.
The Mavericks will now have some easy fixtures where they are
expected to register a win. Their next match is up against the bottom-of-the-table San Antonio Spurs whereas afterwards, they will face the struggling Utah Jazz side
in back-to-back fixtures.
After that, they have a couple of fixtures against the Kings
and the winner of those matches might decide who will finish in the top six in the
Western Conference.
