Phoenix Suns power forward
Kevin Durant believes that not
having ‘enough time together’ was the key reason behind why his time ended with the
Brooklyn Nets in a rather disappointing manner.
The 35-year-old spent two seasons with the Nets in the 2020-21
and the 2021-22 season but ended up leaving the franchise next season.
Durant, while talking to the media, was asked about why it
didn’t work with the Nets. In response to that, he stated that the primary reason
was not spending a lot of time together with the other players.
“We didn’t have enough time together,” he said. “That’s just
it. Guys wanted to go their separate ways. We tried our hardest to salvage
everything. We had three or four different teams when I signed here to when I
left.”
Durant, during his time with the Nets, registered more than 2,000
points in just two seasons, an incredible feat to say the least. The Washington-born
was a part of the Suns team as they defeated the Nets in the recent encounter
with a score of 136-120 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Durant was the star performer for the Suns in the match as
he ended up registering 33 points along with five rebounds and eight assists.
