The
Washington Wizards shooting guard
Jordan Poole’s
contract has come under scrutiny after an NBA transfer insider claimed that it
has been termed as the ‘worst’ deal in the competition.
The 24-year-old is playing in his first season for the
Wizards and was awarded a five-year deal where he is supposed to earn $27.4
million this season.
ESPN’s NBA insider Bobby Marks was recently quoted in a
report where he stated that a lot of teams are calling Poole’s deal the ‘worst’
in the competition.
"A lot of teams are calling the Jordan Poole contract
one of the worst deals in the NBA right now,” he said.
Poole, after his big-money move, has failed to live up to
the expectations this season where he is contributing 15.7 points, 2.4 rebounds
and 3.6 assists per game.
In his most recent outing, the Wisconsin-born managed to register
18 points to go with one rebound and one assist against the Denver Nuggets.
Poole’s best outing this season came in the match against the
Indiana Pacers where he registered 30 points to go with four rebounds and eight
assists. It was the third time this season that he registered 30 points for
his franchise.
