The Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker has stated that
his team is looking to avoid the ‘play-in territory’ as they move towards the
business end of the season.
The Suns, who have won four of their last six matches, are
currently placed on the seventh spot in the Western Conference table with 39
wins and 28 defeats. They are within touching distance of the sixth-placed Sacramento
Kings who have won 38 matches and suffered 27 defeats in the process.
However, if they finish outside the top six, they will be
involved in the NBA Play-in tournament which will decide the seventh and eighth-seed teams in each of the conferences for the playoffs.
Booker was recently quoted in a report where he stated that the Suns are looking to avoid that scenario and ensure that they finish in the top six.
“You don’t want to disrespect no team in the NBA,” he said. “We
want to win every game that you can, especially with the way the seeding is set
up and us being in play-in territory. You want to avoid that.”
Booker is having a fabulous season for the Suns where he is
contributing 27.4 points per game which is the sixth-best in the competition.
That’s not it as he is also contributing 4.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
