The New Orleans Pelicans came into the Barclays Center to face off against the struggling Brooklyn Nets and they took care of business behind Zion Williamson’s dominant performance, defeating the home team 104-91.
The Pelicans have been quietly having one of the best seasons in the NBA this year. They had no All-Star representations despite Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram each averaging over 20 points, yet they weren’t bothered as they decided to let their game do the talking. New Orleans is getting closer to securing an official playoff spot while also possibly sneaking into a top 4 seed in the West.
Their success is because of the dominant play from Zion Williamson, who has really been locked in. It was reported that he lost 25 pounds, which is big news considering his weight was one of the concerning factors regarding his play. He looks much better on the court and his performance reflects that.
