San Antonio
Spurs ' young center
Victor Wembanyama has been the story of the 2023-24 NBA
season. Not many predicted that he would become such a hit when he was drafted
by the franchise.
However, the
youngster has been simply outstanding for a struggling Spurs side throughout
the season. In the last four matches, it seems that Chesnay-Rocquencourt-born
is going through the best moments as he is contributing 24.8 points, 11.5
rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
He is achieving
all of that while staying less than 30 minutes on average on the court, an
incredible achievement to say the least. That’s not it as he is also contributing
5.8 blocks per game.
Wembanyama, throughout
the season, is contributing at an average of 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.3
assists per game.
Those numbers become
even more impressive considering that Spurs are going through a poor season on
so many levels as they’ve won just 11 matches and suffered 46 defeats. Those
results left them in the fifth position in the Southwest Division.
Wembanyama’s
best outing this season came in the match against the Phoenix Suns where he ended
up registering 38 points to go with 10 rebounds and two assists.
