The Boston Celtics star centre Kristaps Porziņgis has
revealed that he is excited to play in the postseason for the first time in two
years.
The 28-year-old has been one of the star performers for the
Celtics who are going through a great campaign. They have already locked the
top spot in the Eastern Conference with 59 wins and only 16 defeats this
season.
Porziņgis was recently quoted in a report where he expressed
excitement to be a part of the side that will be playing in the post-regular season
for the first time in two years.
“I can't even imagine how the garden is going to be,” he said,
“It's already insanely loud for regular season games. The arena is going to be
shaking. I'm excited for that kind of environment."
In the previous two campaigns, the Liepaja-born played for
the Washington Wizards and on both occasions, his team ended outside the
playoffs spot. His last appearance in the postseason fixtures was in the 2020-21
season where he was representing the Dallas Mavericks.
Porziņgis is going
through a fabulous season for the Celtics where he is contributing 20.2 points,
6.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. His best outing this season came in the
match against the Detroit Pistons where he registered 35 points to go with eight
rebounds and one assist.
