Phoenix improves to 44-31 with this win and now move up to the 7th seed in the West. They are just 1 game behind the Pelicans for the 7th seed so this was a massive victory to close the gap between them.
The Suns are looking to move up in the standings and avoid the play-in so this was a step in the right direction. They are 6-4 over their last 10 games and will look to keep this up on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
New Orleans drops to 45-30 with this loss and fall to the 6th seed in the West. They are sliding down the standings and have struggled since losing Brandon Ingram. After sitting as the 4th seed a few weeks ago they have now dropped to near the play-in tournament.
The Pelicans would like to remain a top 6 seed to guarantee a playoff spot so tonight’s loss is a tough one to swallow. They are on a 2-game losing streak and will look to bounce back on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.
