In a recent episode of ESPN "First Take", former center and 2008 NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins, stated that the time is right for the
Golden State Warriors to break the core that caused nightmares around the league since their first championship, back in 2015.
Golden State may have never been in this situation since they became on of the most powerful dinasties in recent history. They've lost 22 games now and there are no signs of reaction.
While the Dubs have suffered some injuries that slowed them down a couple of seasons ago, they never faced a present like this, where the whole core is healthy but the basketball just doesn't flow.
Draymond Green came back from his suspension to play against a Grizzlies team that have been target of a lot of severe injuries. They Warriors lost anyway.
Front office has a hard decision to make: Storm the market and trade two of their legends, or explore potential deals regarding Warriors young prospects, such as Jonatan Kuminga or even Andrew Wiggins.
Kendrick Perkins expresed how he feels about the "Dubs" drama:
"When you look at the body language of
Klay Thompson, you know it's time to make a change," Perkins said. "Both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have to go, and then you need to have a conversation with Steph to see what does he want to do."
"I don't believe Klay is done. I just believe that he needs a change, a change of scenario. I look at Phoenix, I look at the Lakers and their situation. I just think that Klay and Draymond could benefit from playing in a different scenario," he stated.
Trade deadline is coming up, and the Warriors need to take a turn as soon as possible if they want to compete for a spot in this year's Playoffs.
