American sports television
personality Nick Wright believes that the
Denver Nuggets star forward Nikola
Jokic is a better offensive player than legendary players like
Kobe Bryant and Kevin
Durant.
The 29-year-old is often regarded
as one of the best players currently playing in the NBA alongside the Dallas
Mavericks Luka Doncic, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the
Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Wright was recently quoted in a report
where he stated that Jokic’s performances over the last couple of seasons show
that at least offensively, he is a better player like Bryant and Durant.
“The best offensive players ever
— this is not in order, but this is the list: Wilt [Chamberlain], Kareem
[Abdul-Jabbar], Michael [Jordan], Magic [Johnson], [Larry] Bird, Shaq
(Shaquille O’Neal), Steph (Stephen Curry), LeBron [James] and this guy (Jokic),”
he said.
“That has him ahead of Kobe. That
has him ahead of [Kevin] Durant. That has him ahead of [Tim] Duncan and Dream
(Hakeem Olajuwon), which I think most would agree with, ’cause so much of their
value was being the best defensive player in the league for a year. But I think
he is a more deadly offensive player than Kobe or Durant were.”
Jokic is having a fabulous season
for the Nuggets where he is averaging 26 points, 12.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists
per game.
