Last Saturday night,
Philadelphia 76ers clashed against
Denver Nuggets in Mile High City.
Joel Embiid was expected to play but minutes before the game he was ruled out due to a knee soreness. Now the NBA may investigate this situation further.
Despite all the jokes and growing frustration among the Nuggets fans (who haven't seen Embiid suit up with the Sixers in Denver since 2019), the situation has became serious now that the league has found some reasons to believe that Embiid's sudden change of status before the match might not be 100% true.
Previous to the game, Embiid was out of the injury report, but this changed when the player began warming up. Aproximately 30 minutes before the game, news emerged that the MVP will not be playing.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Embiid was out with a knee soreness and the trainers decided to proceed with caution, leaving Joel out of the game.
In addition, NBA insider Shams Charania stated:
"Joel Embiid did injure his knee the previous game but he wasn't on the team's injury report the day before the game," Shams said.
"He didn't enter the injury report I'm told until 15 minutes before tip-off. For sure that's something the league will have to review."
However, without their MVP, the Sixers played with courage, offering the reigning champions a more demanding and challenging game that they' might have expected.
