Less than two weeks for the upcoming
trade deadline, and teams are probably storming with ideas of potential deals. Some of them have been very active and confirmed several negotiations, and some of them are still analyzing to make a move or not. Here, we propose six trades that could be interesting to witness in the next 10 days.
1. Strengthening the Sixers' backcourt.
In this trade, the
Philadelphia 76ers acquire
Tyus Jones from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Robert Covington, Kenyon Martin Jr. and two second round picks. This move looks to provide the 76ers with a proven ball handler to operate in the second unit and alleviate Tyrese Maxey's minutes load. For the Wizards, receiving two second-round picks fits with their long-term plans.
2. Knicks add playmaker.
The
New York Knicks are looking to acquire
Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Evan Fournier, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick. With an impressive record, the Knicks are looking to strengthen their bench play, particularly in playmaking, and Brogdon appears to be the ideal solution.
3. Thunder incorporates size
The
Oklahoma City Thunder acquire Andre Drummond from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Aleksej Pokusevski and second-round picks in 2025 and 2027. This move looks to address the Thunder's weakness in defensive rebounding, and Drummond could be the solution to improving that facet of the game.
4. Lakers pick up another star.
The
Los Angeles Lakers are looking to obtain
Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks, sending Spencer Dinwiddie and a 2029 first-round pick to the Hawks, and
D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. This move aims to strengthen the Lakers' roster with a high-end player before the trade deadline.
5. Raptors continue rebuilding.
In this trade, the Oklahoma City Thunder receive Jakob Poeltl and Dennis Schroder from the
Toronto Raptors in exchange for Davis Bertans, Aleksej Pokusevski, Tre Mann, Aaron Wiggins, two first-round picks and two second-round picks. Both teams are looking to trade assets to meet their short and long-term needs.
6. Bridges crosses the bridge to the Knicks.
The New York Knicks are looking to acquire
Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, sending Evan Fournier, Quentin Grimes and several first and second round picks in different years. While historically rare, this proposed trade would look to bolster the Knicks with one of the best players in both facets of the game, though the challenge lies in the Knicks' and Nets' historical reluctance to make trades for each other.
