The
New York Knicks shooting guard
Josh Hart has called for
a ban on fans storming the court after college basketball matches.
It has become a sort of tradition in the US where the fans
usually stormed the court at the end of the match and players had to run off
the court.
One such incident recently happened where an upcoming star Caitlin
Clark was hit by a fan unintentionally while making a video using her smartphone as the youngster was trying to get off the court. The incident did leave
the 22-year-old in pain as she was then taken off the court by the supporting
team of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Hart, while recently talking in the RoomMates show, stated
that he has always been against such behaviour and has called for a blanket ban
on fans storming the court after any match.
"I've always hated the court storming thing," said
Hart. "Dudes just kind of do whatever just to be noticed or just like try
to do something just idiotic. Just because everyone now like responds to just
like stupidity and ignorance. Hopefully they ban it.”
Hart is having a rather below-par season for the Knicks
where he is contributing 9.1 points, eight rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
